When I'm not on campus or at a conference or workshop, I have plenty of other interests that keep me busy:

1) Pastry is my "decompression mechanism" and I am an "official sugar dealer" for friends and colleagues! Check my pastry adventures @marakibakes (Instagram)

2) Painting can activate the mind and act as an outlet for stress release and self-expression. Some of my art adventures can been seen here ↓
 
3) Moreover, I was born and raised in Athens, Greece, which naturally makes me a soccer fanatic. I'm a die-hard fan in particular of my hometown Panathinaikos FC team. 

4) I also enjoy walking, when the Iowa weather permits it, of course.
